Performance parametres of the SPR-based COVID-19 sensing device

  • Limit of detection= 10 pfu mL-1 [corresponding to Ct=32.5 and 5.9x10-4 to 1.9x108 viral copies mL-1]

  • Same sensitivity fo different clades: 20A.EU2 (EU variant) | 20I/501Y.V1 (UK variant) | 20H/501Y.V2 (South African variant) | B.1.617.2+AY.1+AY.2 (Delta variant) | B.1.1.529 (Omicron variant)
  • Validation on 200 nasopharyngeal samples by CHU Lille: 84 positive and 116 negative as identified by real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests:
  • 86% positive percentage agreement (PPA) as compared to the gold standard RT-qPCR

  • 76% negative percentage agreement (NPA ) as compared to the gold standard RT-qPCR

  • Integration of machine learning: recording of  1 min SPR sensogram data is sufficient to match the inferred results from 15 min sensing data.
